Table 1 Significant associations between independent and dependant variables (top reasons to submit to the RVL). Independent variables included in the models were enterprise type, herd owner or not, sex, age (categorised into < 40 years, 40–65 years and >  65 years), and above/below median stock number. Respondents were asked to pick their top three reasons why they would submit; however, a number of respondents ranked all answer options from 1 to 12. Therefore answers were categorised into being selected as a top 3 reason or not
