Dr. John Mee

Irish National Dairy Research Centre, Ireland

John is the Principal Veterinary Research Scientist in the Irish National Dairy Research Centre at Teagasc, Moorepark. He is a National and European board-certified registered specialist in bovine health management.  John has over 30 years’ experience as a leader of theriogenology and animal health/welfare research projects. He has worked in Ireland, Australia and in New Zealand and in private and public veterinary practice. His research

work has included dairy herd fertility, dairy cow welfare, dairy calf health, animal health surveillance, micronutrient status, congenital abnormalities, biosecurity, infectious diseases, ectoparasites, contract rearing, beef herd health and ewe and lamb behaviour and mortality. John currently collaborates on research projects in Australia, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Scotland and Switzerland. In addition John lectures in Irish, Hungarian and UK universities and institutes. There’s more to life than work - John enjoys running, cycling and surfing more than work!
