Simon More is Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology and Risk Analysis at University College Dublin in Ireland, and also Director of the Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Risk Analysis (CVERA), a national resource centre providing information to support national policy decision-making, both in government and industry. In this role, Simon oversees a broad portfolio of research, in a range of areas relating to animal health & welfare and public health, interacting closely with colleagues from the national Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and from Animal Health Ireland. He is also chair of the Scientific Committee of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and has contributed to a number of EFSA working groups, focusing on honey bee colony health, approaches to limiting the need for antimicrobial usage in farm animals, and a range of issues to support the control of African swine fever in the European Union.
